A Powerhouse & Master Connector, Meet Sarah!

It’s Wednesday again and you know what time is! It’s #WCW. Yes, that’s Woman Crush Wednesday!

So on #WCW you can expect to have some real, honest I See You Moments! I See You® Candle and wishes to follow!

Ya’ll ready for this?

Today’s I See You® blog features the genuine Sarah Patton, owner of Social Bliss Events (SBE) and founder of Creative Souls Tribe. This Tennessee native is strong in her faith, with a focused compass that directs her true north.

Sarah took her entrepreneurial walk in faith at just 27 years old. What started out as a side hustle quickly became obvious after just a year and half it was time to leave her corporate job and use her organizational skills to create her event planning company, Social Bliss Events.

Sarah was featured on the Julia Bruck YouTube channel, Embracing Life’s Messy Adventure, where Sarah, per usual, got real honest about what it took for her to create Social Bliss Events and what it takes to be an entrepreneur.

Sarah is the first to uplift, inspire and remind others about their gifts, but we want today to be a day ya’ll can join us in celebrating and lift up this kind soul.

Here’s a little more about Sarah in her own words!

What or who inspired you to create your business? Tell us about your business.

SBE (Social Bliss Events) was created out of my absolute love for Nashville. I fell in love with this city and wanted everyone else to know how amazing it was - and not just for Broadway. Since I went to college here, I was able to get a head start. I knew Nashville was cool before any magazine ever deemed it the "It City."

I founded Creative Souls Tribe because I saw women's groups were very siloed in Nashville. I wanted a community that represented all types of ladies. A place where they could feel seen, supported and talk about things that matter. We're here to inspire, equip and challenge women to live above mediocrity and be the best they can be while supporting others (similar + different to them) along the way!

Who saw you and supported your dreams?

Rico + Char (Parentals) have supported me from day one. I'm grateful to have amazing friends and a huge network that have always believed in my audacious dreams.

What song heals your soul?

Welllll, I can't pick just one. This is so hard because I love everything from Christian to rap to pop to indie. But I absolutely love anything from my FAVORITE band - Tedeschi Trucks Band. No one has heard of them so i hope this blog helps me find some new concert buddies! :) "Midnight in Harlem" is my favorite. I love love love my Jesus music. Worship is on in my house constantly. "Peace Be Still" by my church, The Belonging, might be my jam right now feat Lauren Daigle. Also, anything by Tasha Cobbs speaks to my soul.

What does it mean to YOU to feel seen?

Since gifts are my love languages, I feel seen when people tangibly think of me - snail mail, surprise presents, and thoughtful deeds make my heart happy. Acts of service is tied for #1 love language (and Responsibility is my 2nd Clifton Strength) so it's really important that people put ACTION behind their words. I need people who show up and that I can depend on.

What’s your go-to, self-care tip?

  1. Setting dates to sleep in with NO ALARM. Your body will wake you up when it's ready.
  2. Allow yourself to lie in the bed for a bit without jumping up and rushing off to start the day.
  3. I live by No meeting, No make-up Monday. I often work on the weekends and will catch myself working 7 days, but since putting this in place I can count on Monday to be low key. I also love a day filled with my favorite things - sleeping in, spending quiet time with Jesus then lacing up my tennis shoes and heading to Radnor Lake, followed by brunch with my friends, taking a cat nap after a full belly (playing nap roulette - 30 minutes or 3 hours... who cares). I've learned it's critical to take care of ME!

Growing up, did you play an instrument and/or did you participate in any organized sports, clubs and/or volunteer programs? How do you think these activities helped shape you as a person?

This social butterfly was in all of the programs! I was a Girl Scout for a bit, highly involved in church growing up and loved youth group, was a member of Beta Club, FCCLA, yearbook co-editor, played sports some (tennis, softball, and basketball .. hello Twisterettes) and played saxophone for 5 or 6 years because Char played, too.

Being on a team teaches you to depend on others, and you must learn to work as a team. You learn to not give up, see things through until the end (even if it's a losing season), and to try new things. I'm grateful to have Parentals who paid all of those fees and let me try anything I was interested in. It instilled confidence in me and developed perseverance.

What advice would you give your younger self?

Gosh, I'd tell baby Sarah how freaking amazing she is. Remind her to always dream big and reach for the stars because she's going to move mountains. God will use her in mighty ways so let the naysayers talk. I'd reminder her to trust her gut, stand up for injustice, and be kind to everyone. Keep being your smiley, extraverted, outgoing, fun-loving self because the world needs Y O U... and there's only one. The future is so bright, dear.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give someone thinking about starting their own company?

Know your WHY. Why are you starting the blog, biz, side hustle? What sets you apart? What keeps you up at night? Why is this your passion? There will be days you want to throw in the towel. Others with mountain top wins, but in between it's a lot of monotony. You have to be committed for the long haul and know that success (however you define it) doesn't happen overnight. Be committed. Put in the hard work. And enjoy every minute of it because it's one heck of a ride.

Sarah, WE SEE YOU!! We honor your heart. We appreciate your ability to unite and uplift ALL women. We celebrate your vision for the future and the obedience to execute it!

Sarah is a genuinely kind soul driven by her divinely focused purpose. She is a woman wise beyond her years. We hope you join us in celebrating her today as our #wcw feature!

Don’t forget to show her some support by following Social Bliss Events on Instagram and Facebook. If you are a woman wanting a creative in Nashville or Philly, check out Creative Souls Tribe Community Pages on Instagram and Facebook.
