The I See You Company

Our tricks to getting through it!

Our tricks to getting through it!

Prior to the launch of The I See You Company, Loreto and I had been married for 7 years and had just had our daughter the year earlier. Launching the company changed our dynamic, only because we are busier.

Before we launched the company, I was someone who didn’t know where my phone was and was completely ok with that.

Now, my family is getting used to seeing me working on my phone, which must be an adjustment for them as much as me, since I’ve never been attached to my phone.

One of the most amazing things about my husband, Loreto, is that he’s very encouraging, supporting and understanding about this new chapter in our lives.

Whether he is offering to take care of our daughter, do the dishes, run errands, just so I can have an uninterrupted space, he is always doing what it takes to support me to be successful.

For many years I was the one in the more supportive role with his production company, his projects, late nights filming and frankly this is the kind of hard work it takes to have a successful company.

He has said he knows it’s now his turn to return the support because I’m in need now. For us, where ever there is a gap, he naturally fills it without asking.

We’ve learned over the years there’s no clock timing each other or finger pointing, we just have an understanding of needing to get things done.

I think the most amazing thing about Loreto, he knows when the right amount of encouragement is needed.

He knows when I need to hear “You are amazing, the company’s amazing and you are on the right path.”

In the times of doubt and frustration, he provides the outside perspective. He’s involved in the company, but not to the extent to knowing every detail, which helps because he is able to give a more outside opinion.

Having a 2-year old daughter has changed our priorities, so sometimes a couple days can pass before we can talk about what I’m working on because we are going in 1,000 different directions.

When Ashley asked Loreto his opinion about the level of support he’s providing in this current chapter, he said, “I do this because I believe in my wife.  I do this because I love my wife and I believe in her dream the same way she believes in my dreams.”

Loreto shared with her that whether it was cleaning the dishes or caring for our child, there are no limitations to our roles. We believe in doing things together.

Loreto said that when our friends are discussing this new venture with him, everyone “knows how Amy is. They know she’s a very strong woman, so for everyone in our world, they are not surprised that my wife is doing this. It's Amy and it’s normal to see her driven and focused in this way.”

At the end of the day, for Loreto and I this is a new step for us and is simply a progression of our life together. I love it how much he believes in me and my dream. When Loreto says, “In my mind, I’m sure everything will be successful. Whether it’s the company or Amy specifically, the fact we are trying, she’s trying, it’s already successful because she tried!”

We know how fortunate we are to have strong, supportive men in our life! If you have one too, go home an celebrate him with an I See You Candle, our very own special occasion candle, Today! We are doing the same.
